I am a skilled law graduate with a creative streak. A qualified solicitor with almost seven years' experience in family law, I changed career in summer 2016 to become a full-time writer / editor.

Freelance Writer / Editor

Commissioned by businesses and agents to write and edit copy for publication, I am currently working on a number of freelance projects in the fashion and retail, lifestyle and tech industries.

I create and edit editorial and commercial content, product and marketing copy for a range of mediums including websites, blogs, emails, video scripts, and social media platforms.

Commercial Copywriter / Sub-editor

Responsible for writing the promotional pages for a top British magazine (c.250), commercial native articles and bespoke emails, sub-editing and proofreading promotional pages at Cromalin, V2 and Sherpa stages and collaborating on the members' club monthly newsletter.
I also provided commercial ideas for clients, creative print and online pitches, assisted the Promotions Director, Promotions Manager Art Director and Creative Director with pitch-related work/copy/research and supported the sales team with pitch and proposal writing covering categories from fashion, cosmetic surgery to travel, interiors and fine jewellery.

2013 - 2016

Practising as a family lawyer, I was involved with a number of high profile, reported cases in both the High Court and Supreme Court. I began my career in a renowned legal aid firm acting in cases with serious issues of violence and abuse, before moving to a top tier boutique firm where I dealt with complex matrimonial, tax and trusts matters.

Senior Paralegal

2009 - 2012

Starting my legal career at a small, private firm, I soon moved to a larger multi-disciplinary firm where, within 6 months, I ran a high-level caseload regularly representing clients in court. This experience allowed me to qualify directly as a solicitor at the end of 2012 / beginning of 2013.

Law School

2008 - 2009, 2012

I undertook the Bar Vocational Course (as it then was), passing with a 'Very Competent' and obtained a Post-graduate Diploma. I later returned in April 2012 to take the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (QLTT) passing with an 'A' before I was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in February 2013.

University of London

2005 - 2008

I attended one of the Universities of London (and member of the Russell Group) where I read Law; gaining an LLB with upper second class honours (2:1).
